Job summary

CIRCLE C CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER is seeking energetic After School Teachers for our Southwest Austin elementary enrichment program. This part-time, non-exempt, seasonal role runs Mon-Fri, 2:30pm-6:00pm, Aug 2026–May 2027, on-site at Austin ISD schools.

You will supervise activity centers, lead engaging activities, and mentor students while ensuring safety and licensing compliance. Ideal candidates are college students or those re-entering the workforce, with at least a high school diploma, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work 5 days per week, M-F 2:30pm–6:00pm.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must pass state background check and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise planned activity centers, free play, and facilitate teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Lead engaging activities to help students explore talents and build skills.
• Coordinate sports, arts and crafts, science, and other enrichment activities.
• Mentor students and foster positive relationships with students and parents.
• Serve as a positive role model and ensure health and safety at all times.

Position Details

Job Type: Part-time, non-exempt, seasonal (August 2026-May 2027).

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:30pm -6:00 pm (required)

Start Date: Mid-August 2026

Location: On-site at Austin ISD elementary schools

We partner with Austin ISD to provide after school care on-site at 11 elementary schools in the southwest Austin area.

Job Duties Include

• Teachers actively supervise planned activity centers, free play, and facilitate games that emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Our teachers lead engaging activities that allow students to both explore new talents and build on known skills.
• Activities include but are not limited to sports, arts and crafts, painting, science and engineering, gym games, sewing, and cooking!
• Provide mentorship to the students and foster positive relationships with students and parents.
• Serve as a teacher and positive role model to the students.
• Ensure the health and safety of the students at all times, and compliance with licensing rules and regulations.

What We're Looking For

• Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Preferred: 1+ years of work experience or experience working with children
• Required: Ability to work 5 days per week, M-F 2:30pm - 6:00pm
• Bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus!
• Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs and be able to stand and be physically active for long periods of time
• Joy for children and a desire to make a difference in their lives
• Candidates must meet all TDFPS requirements, have reliable transportation, and be dedicated and VERY DEPENDABLE.
• Must pass a state-run criminal background check before starting employment
