Job summary

New York Edge is seeking a Sports Activity Specialist to lead after-school sports and physical activity for youth in Queens Village. You will deliver age-appropriate instruction, ensure safety, and support during Academic hours, working 9-15 hours weekly with afternoon sessions.

You will collaborate with the Center for Sports and Wellness and the Program Director, following a defined curriculum and helping students develop physical skills and character through organized activities.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of sports and prior youth instruction experience.
• Must be able to follow a curriculum and be reliable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Motivate students to be active daily.
• Follow lesson plans and safety guidelines for activities.
• Coordinate with Program Director on calendars and events.
• Lead age-appropriate sports activities and supervise participants.
• Prepare facilities for group activities and ensure safety.
