Job summary

Read Better Be Better in Mesa, Arizona, is seeking part-time After-School Literacy Program Coaches to guide a cohort of Readers and Leaders. The role emphasizes reading, mentoring, and a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Preferred candidates are enrolled in a relevant degree program (i.e. teaching, educational studies, youth & early childhood development, social justice, etc.) OR have experience working with children in a school setting.
• Classroom management skills and a patient personality are key components we look for in our Program Coaches.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the literacy program, supervise Readers and Leaders, and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
• Attend essential paid training and onboarding prior to starting at the assigned school and participate in weekly coach meetings.
• Support curriculum progress, track student development, and collaborate with the Program Coordinator to share successes and address concerns.
