Job summary

Harmonium, Inc. in San Diego is seeking an Assistant Site Director for an extended learning program (ASES/ELOP). This part-time role supports the Site Director, helps manage daily operations, oversee ratios, and ensures safety and student well-being.

You will create engaging activities, handle attendance and enrollment tasks, maintain organized spaces, and participate in trainings. The position requires at least 1 year in after-school childcare, college credits, and CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have 48 completed college units OR pass the District’s Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam.
• Must have either 6 completed units in child development/education or related field OR 6 months documented work experience in an ASES program.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an after-school or group childcare setting with elementary-aged children.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activities while maintaining required ASES/ELOP ratios.
• Maintain safety, security, and well-being of all children enrolled.
• Assist Site Director in creating age-appropriate arts, crafts, recreation, and homework activities.
• Apply positive behavior supports and communicate concerns to the Site Director.
• Support and maintain enrollment information.
• Help keep the program space organized and welcoming.
• Work at least 80% of scheduled program hours.
• Ensure compliance with ASES/ELOP regulations and Harmonium policies.
• Participate in trainings and meetings as requested.
• Perform administrative duties for up to 10 consecutive days when the Site Director is absent.
