Job summary

Imagine Arts Academy of St. Louis is hiring enthusiastic instructors to lead engaging art classes at elementary schools in the area. This very part-time position complements school, other jobs, or retirement, with two to four weekday afternoons per week.

Instructors receive curriculum, lesson plans, training, supplies, and ongoing support to help deliver successful classes at multiple locations. Training and transport duties are part of the role, with a friendly, flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Enjoy working with elementary-age children
• Dependable, energetic, patient
• Available on at least two weekday afternoons
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
• Able to travel to schools throughout the St. Louis area
• Able to transport and carry program supplies
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Willing to complete required training
• Able to pass applicable background-screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead structured, hands-on art projects for groups of 10–20 children
• Create a positive, well-managed classroom environment
• Explain art techniques and instructions age-appropriately
• Encourage creativity while keeping students engaged and on task
• Prepare materials before class and clean up after sessions
• Transport program materials to/from assigned schools
• Communicate professionally with school staff and the office
• Follow program, school, and child-safety procedures
