Job description

Student Life Assistant

Compensation Range: $13.00 – $14.49.

Position Summary: The Student Life Assistant provides administrative support to the Director of Student Activities and assists with virtual and on‑campus activities, event registrations, marketing of events, overseeing task deadlines, and delegating tasks as needed. Assignments are typically technical or analytical, requiring specialized skills. Hours consist of a 25–28‑hour work week; specific hours will be agreed upon by supervisor and employee prior to employment. Some weekends may be required. Flexible schedule accommodates event times.

Job Duties
  • Perform administrative/clerical duties such as typing, filing, data entry, photocopying, answering the telephone, and taking accurate messages; serve as a backup for work‑study positions in the office.
  • Delegate work to work‑study student employees and oversee deadlines for their tasks.
  • Oversee fundraising data entry, from preparing deposits to crediting and updating reports.
  • Run errands on campus; assist with mailings, survey data collection, and student activities marketing efforts.
  • Compile data for assessment and configure spreadsheets.
  • Assist and train club/organization officers.
  • Assist students seeking basic information at the office.
  • Inventory office supplies and notify Student Life Coordinator in a timely manner; inventory Food Pantry/Clothing Closet items.
  • Provide contactless giveaway assistance and assembly.
  • Assist with activities and events (selling tickets, book sales, set‑up, and breakdown) whenever possible.
  • Update social media; email and call booking agents for events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or two‑year college equivalent (at least 60 undergraduate semester hours).
  • High‑school diploma or GED equivalent if substituting experience for education.
  • At least two years of experience working in student services and/or career services in a college setting.
  • Technical experience and proficiency with data management systems and learning platforms.
  • Experience with office and administrative duties; a professional record demonstrating effectiveness in self‑directed roles, multi‑tasking, organization, and analytical ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree.
  • Experience with event planning and execution.
  • Experience navigating various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter, etc.).
