Job summary

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking a qualified Adult Education ABE Instructor (substitute) to be located in Catoosa County at the Shirley Smith Learning Center. This role reports to the Director of Instruction and requires on-campus presence, with classroom hours 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and prior teaching/classroom management experience.
• Experience teaching adults preferred.
• On-campus presence required; telework not offered.

Responsibilities

• Prepares lesson plans aligned to CCRS standards and prepares instructional materials.
• Instruction may cover language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.
• Evaluates student progress and attainment of goals and objectives.
• Maintains registration documentation and administrative reports.
• Recruits, supervises and directs classroom volunteers where applicable.
• Assists with registration, recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
• Maintains a secure classroom environment.
