Job summary

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking a qualified Part Time Adult Education ABE Instructor to be located at the Gordon County Campus. The position will require travel to other campuses to meet operational needs and reports to the Lead Instructor.

The Adult Education ABE Instructor will conduct in-person classes, typically Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, aligning with CCRS standards and evaluating student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and prior teaching and classroom management experience in an educational or training setting.
• Master’s Degree in a related field and prior experience teaching basic academic skills to adult learners in an open-entry, multi-level classroom.
• Part-time position; no benefits are available.

Responsibilities

• Prepares lesson plans aligned to CCRS standards for classroom instruction and prepares instructional materials.
• Provides learner guidance to students.
• Evaluates students' ongoing progress and performance.
• Promotes the adult education program to public and private organizations.
• Maintains registration documentation and administrative reports.
• Plans, organizes and participates in staff development and team conferences.
• Maintains a secure classroom environment.
• Recruits, supervises and directs classroom volunteers where applicable.
• Assists with registration, recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.
