Job summary

Lone Star College–Kingwood invites applications for adjunct (part-time) faculty to teach in the Associate of Arts in Teaching program across day, evening, and weekend classes. Adjunct hires are based on student demand and are offered on a semester-by-semester basis.

Primary responsibilities include planning, developing, and teaching courses, using syllabi, and advising students. This role supports our mission and offers flexible scheduling in a two-year college setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in educational psychology, child development, early childhood education or elementary education.
• 18 graduate hours in educational psychology, child development, early childhood education or elementary education.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Associate of Arts in Teaching courses at a variety of times and locations
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
• Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner
• Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
• Meets with and advises students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
• Evaluates students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informs students in a timely manner of their progress
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
• Attends meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
• Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
