Job summary

West Virginia University at Parkersburg is seeking adjunct faculty for the Nursing & Health Sciences Division. Adjunct appointments are part-time, temporary, non-benefits-eligible for one semester, with a teaching load not to exceed 9 credit hours.

Most teaching will occur on the Parkersburg campus, with potential instruction at the Jackson County Center in Ripley or the Innovation Technology Center in Vienna. Classes may be scheduled in the evening, on weekends, or online.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the subject matter from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Alternative: Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 semester hours graduate credit in the subject matter.
• For technical fields where a Master’s degree does not exist, experience or alternate certifications may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
• College-level teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The majority of instructional duties will be at the main campus in Parkersburg, but may also include instruction at the Jackson County Center in Ripley or at the Innovation Technology Center in Vienna.
• Teaching assignments may include evening, weekend, hybrid and/or totally online instruction.
