Job summary

WVU Parkersburg invites applications for an Adjunct (Part-time) Faculty position. This role supports instruction at Parkersburg campus and may include classes at Vienna or Ripley campuses, with evening, weekend, hybrid, and online formats.

Assignments are for one semester, teaching up to 9 credit hours and are non-benefits-eligible. A Master’s degree in the subject matter (or Master’s with 18 graduate hours) is required, and college teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the subject matter from a recognized, regionally accredited college or university.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 semester hours graduate credit in the subject matter.
• College-level teaching experience is preferred.

Adjunct (Part-time) Faculty Position

WVU Parkersburg is a Community and Technical College located in Parkersburg, WV, with a branch in Ripley, WV, and Vienna, WV (We are not a branch of West Virginia University). We are dedicated to teaching and are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission to offer certificates, associate and bachelor’s degrees. This position may require work at our Main Campus in Parkersburg, WV, or at one of our branch locations in Vienna, WV, or Ripley, WV.

Adjunct faculty appointments are part-time temporary, non-benefits-eligible assignments for one semester in duration, with a teaching load not to exceed 9 credit hours.

Responsibilities

The majority of instructional duties will be at the main campus in Parkersburg, but may also include the instruction of classes at the Jackson County Center in Ripley or at the Innovation Technology Center in Vienna. Teaching assignments may include evening, weekend, hybrid and/or totally on-line instruction.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in the subject matter from a recognized, regionally accredited college or university.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 semester hours graduate credit in the subject matter.
• For technical fields where a Master’s degree does not exist (for example, welding), experience or alternate certifications may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
• College-level teaching experience. (preferred)
