Job summary

Prince George's Community College seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Motorcycle Safety, coordinating, planning, presentation, and evaluation of courses across day, evening, or weekend sessions. Classes may be offered face-to-face, hybrid, online, or remote.

The instructor must stay current in the discipline, use diverse learning formats, and participate in advising, curriculum design, and professional development to support student success.

Qualifications

• Five years or more of motorcycle riding experience.
• High school diploma or higher.
• Certified as a Rider Coach through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF).

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and teach curriculum content in conjunction with course outcomes.
• Using applicable technology and pedagogical principles, teach course content via face-to-face, hybrid, online, and remote instruction.
• Complete mandated institutional trainings and professional development trainings related to content discipline and pedagogy.
• Facilitate instructional activities that promote student engagement and learning.
• Evaluate student performance using assessment tools aligned with course objectives and outcomes.
• Create and administer assessments that monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Provide an orientation at the first class meeting with course objectives, requirements, and attendance policy.
• Notify students of key academic dates, maintain an up-to-date electronic grade book, and enter final grades by the due date.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in department evaluation and course assessment processes.
• Maintain office hours, advise students, and refer students to resources.
• Respond to student emails and phone calls within 48 hours (excluding weekends/holidays).
• Attend all required meetings and perform other duties as directed.
