Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Architecture, Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Management, Engineering Technology, Land Planning and Development, Material Science, Safety, Surveying, GIS, Civil Engineering, Environmental Design and Planning, Technology, or other related construction discipline.
• Master’s degree with respective professional license in field and at least 18 graduate semester hours in qualifying fields: Architecture; Building Construction, Construction Engineering, Construction Management; Engineering, Engineering Technology, Surveying, GIS, Civil Engineering, Environmental Design and Planning, Technology, or related discipline.
• Master's degree in Business, Business Administration, or Project Management AND Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field
• Minimum Of 6 Years Of Professional Construction Experience
• Respective professional license in field such as Certified General Contractor, Certified Professional Building Designer, Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, or Registered Architect or other recognized industry credentials.
• Teaching Experience And Professional Registration Or License Is Desired.
• Knowledge, Abilities & Skills: A personal and professional commitment to quality instruction in line with Seminole State College’s mission; possessing sufficient professional expertise; maintaining faculty credentials; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication; ability to utilize technology and innovative pedagogy; professional demeanor; commitment to student learning.

Responsibilities

• Developing a course syllabus in the format determined by the College and posting said syllabus to the College approved system by deadlines.
• Preparing for and delivering class, studio, clinical, or lab instruction as scheduled and at determined times, modalities, and locations.
• Using instructional materials to plan and deliver instruction designed to enhance student learning.
• Developing or modifying assignments, assessments and other course materials to support and evaluate learning outcomes.
• Grading student work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Participating in professional development opportunities offered by the college and department.
• Validating textbooks, posting syllabi, class/grade rosters, and submitting final student grades by deadlines.
• Staying current with CANVAS and other LMS guidelines.
• Responding promptly to communication from students, colleagues and supervisors.
• Meeting with students individually to review course work as needed.
• Collaborating with faculty to promote curriculum improvement.
