Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Staff Speech Pathologist (temporary – part time) in Acute Care – Adult. The role involves providing speech-language pathology services under supervision and supporting a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will develop, implement, and evaluate SLP treatment plans, conduct therapy sessions, and ensure accurate documentation. Strong communication with patients, families, and staff is essential to coordinate care and support

Qualifications

• MA/MS in Speech-Language Pathology and NYS license.
• CCC-SLP certification (ASHA) required.
• BLS or CPR/AED certification required on entry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement SLP treatment programs as per changing needs.
• Conduct group and individual therapy sessions.
• Document treatments and maintain confidential records as per policy.
• Provide patient and family education on SLP disorders and recovery.
• Coordinate with rehabilitation team; report evaluation findings as needed.
• Screen and assess communication abilities; assign FIM and WEE FIM ratings.
• Maintain ongoing professional development and proficiency in clinical skills.
