Job summary

Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX) seeks Part-Time Activity Guides for Dallas DreamLab. You will lead engaging, age-appropriate programs for girls and adult volunteers, ensuring a welcoming, inclusive environment and strong guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Background check required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in facilitating youth-based programming.
• Membership in the Girl Scout organization and adherence to the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate progressive, age-appropriate, engaging experiences, projects, and challenges.
• Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet varying needs.
• Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment that encourages participation.
• Assist with development and execution of DreamLab, Program Van and Area programs.
• Be timely and professional in communications with parents, volunteers, coworkers and girls.
• Learn and execute GSNETX First Aid, CPR and behavior management requirements.
• Maintain administrative tasks with efficiency and consistency.
• Operate and teach best practices for equipment (podcasting gear, laser cutters, 3D printers, etc.).
• Assist Retail team with POS operations including sales, returns, exchanges.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

DreamLab Activity Guides are flexible, on-call team members who support the experience of Girl Scout members and adults at the DreamLab properties and supporting area. These guides will lead high-quality programming for girls of all ages and adult volunteers, along with being present and welcoming to guests. The position reports to the DreamLab Supervisor and is part of a team dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character through building community presence and engagement.

• Facilitate progressive, age-appropriate, engaging experiences, projects, and challenges that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet the varying needs and interests of groups
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and welcoming environment that encourages active participation.
• Assist with the development and execution of DreamLab, Program Van and Area programs.
• Be timely and professional in all communication with parents, volunteers, coworkers and girls.
• Learn and be able to execute on GSNETX First Aid, CPR and classroom behavior management requirements
• Establishes best practice to ensure efficiency and consistency in completing administrative tasks.
• Utilize, maintain, and teach best practices technological equipment including podcasting equipment, laser cutters, 3D printers, and other A/V equipment. Training will be provided.
• Assist Retail team in retail sales operations utilizing the POS system, including but not limited to sales, returns, exchanges
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ability to pass a background check.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be insurable under the organization's vehicle insurance policy.
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Minimum 1 year of experience in facilitating youth-based programing
• Once hired, must hold membership in the Girl Scout organization and subscribe to the tenets of the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
• Bilingual preferred but not required
• Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated strength in both verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Basic level of experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, or the ability and willingness to learn.
• Be willing to learn programming content as needed.
• Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, before and after hours, and on weekends, when required.
• Effective communicator verbally and in writing.
• Willingness and ability to work independently with minimal supervision within the framework of the council’s plan of work.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including predominantly evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrates and promotes a climate of courtesy, respect, and professionalism to coworkers, the volunteers served by this council, and others with whom their position puts them in contact.

Schedule & Hours

• Part Time, up to 29 hours per week
• Monday through Friday- Varies by week
• Evening and weekend hours to support organizational events, meetings, or special projects
