Job summary

Williamsburg Post Acute & Rehabilitation VA in Williamsburg, VA is seeking an Activities Assistant to bring joy and engagement to residents in a skilled nursing setting. You’ll help plan and lead daily recreational activities and special events, adapting to each resident’s needs. Ideal candidates are friendly and patient, with strong communication.

Qualifications

Friendly, outgoing personality with great communication skills.
Ability to motivate and engage residents in activities.
Compassionate and patient approach to working with seniors.
Prior experience in recreation, activities, or a skilled nursing/long-term care setting is a plus (but not required!).

Responsibilities

Assist with planning, organizing, and leading daily recreational activities and special events
Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to meet their individual needs
Help promote social interaction, creativity, and physical well-being
Provide support in transporting residents to and from activities
Work collaboratively with the Activities Director and care team to create a positive environment
