Job summary

Virginia.gov is seeking a Part Time Activities Assistant for the Sitter-Barfoot Veterans Care Center in Richmond, VA. The role supports the Activities Director and provides therapeutic recreation programs for veterans, including Alzheimer/dementia residents.

Afternoons and evenings shifts are required, with every other weekend. Applicants should have experience in long-term care, physical ability to assist residents, and strong reading and writing communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience providing activities programming, preferably in a long term care or adult geriatric setting.
• Must possess the physical ability to turn, bend and lift without restrictions.
• Ability to read, write and communicate ideas.
