Job summary

The Activities Assistant at North Shore Healthcare supports the Life Enrichment/Activities Department by delivering meaningful, person-centered programs that enhance residents’ well-being. You will lead and participate in group and 1:1 activities, promote participation, and help maintain a positive, enriching environment in line with regulatory requirements.

This part-time role is three to four afternoons a week, reports to the Activity Director/Life Enrichment Director, and collaborates with

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong interpersonal skills and energetic demeanor required.
• Ability to lead activities and motivate participation.
• Ability to push wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and leading group and 1:1 activities based on residents’ interests, abilities, and care plans.
• Escort residents to activities while promoting safety and independence.
• Support set-up, materials, and cues during programs.
• Report changes in mood, behavior, or functional ability to Life Enrichment Director and nursing team.
• Create and maintain monthly activity calendars, newsletters, and bulletin boards.
