Job summary

Cabarrus Health & Rehabilitation Center in Concord, NC seeks a Recreation Assistant to engage residents in social and recreational activities, promoting wellbeing and overall happiness. Availability nights and weekends is required, with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference daily.

You will support planning and implementing diverse programs, record participation, and collaborate with staff to ensure holistic resident care while adapting activities to individual needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Creative and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in working with the elderly.
• Knowledge of recreational therapy or related field is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support and motivate residents to engage in social, physical, and cognitive activities and adapt activities to meet the needs and abilities of individual residents.
• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of social and recreational activities and programs for residents.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of activities and resident participation.
• Transport residents to and from activities as needed and assist with the setup and cleanup of activity spaces.
• Coordinate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
• Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care to each resident.
