Dorchester County in South Carolina is seeking a part-time Clerk to support the Treasurer Department with clerical accounting tasks and strong customer service. The role involves maintaining records, processing payments, and assisting taxpayers at the front desk.

You will work under general supervision, perform data entry, handle mail, receipts, and routine postings, and contribute to accurate financial reporting while providing courteous service to residents.

Qualifications

• High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
• Associate Degree in Accounting preferred.
• Four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsabilités

• Process accounts receivable and resolve discrepancies with departments.
• Input and post payments to accounting records; balance accounts.
• Receive taxpayers at front counter, issue receipts, and assist with mail processing.
• Maintain and balance cash drawer; assist with bank reconciliations.
• Provide courteous customer service and respond to inquiries.
