Job summary

Louisiana Housing Corporation in Baton Rouge is seeking a part-time Accountant to process transactions, post ledger entries, and track funding, applying GAAP and GAAS as required.

A bachelor’s degree with accounting hours, CPA, or equivalent experience are among acceptable qualifications; the position is a part-time Classified WAE limited to 1,245 hours per year, with starting hourly pay varying by experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP/GAAS and other accounting standards.
• Experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking.
• Ability to manage invoices, requisitions, budgets, and funding tracking.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Proofreads and corrects new bond issues; sets up accounts and spreadsheets to track issues.
• Maintains MRB cash management records: funds received and disbursed by source.
• Reviews bank statements to ensure liquidity and debt service compliance; rebate calculations.
• Processes invoices/requisitions with proper receipts, budget approvals, and authorization.
• Verifies budgets for available funding using spreadsheets and program software.
• Prepares, submits, and records draws/billing/receipts for operating and programmatic revenue and expenses.
