Allied Universal, a leading security and facilities services provider, seeks a Security Officer - Enhanced Part Time for Sterling, VA. This role offers flexible, anchor shifts with reliable hours and opportunities to supplement income by picking up additional shifts through the scheduling platform.

Responsibilities include monitoring access, patrolling, responding to incidents, and providing excellent customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to technology infrastructure locations by verifying credentials, processing visitors, maintaining visitor logs, and issuing or collecting access badges in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access‑control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized access, unusual activity, and security‑related concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of shift activities, incidents, access‑control events, and communications, and provide clear handoffs to Allied Universal team members and site contacts.
