Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer - Part Time Access Compliance in Reading, PA. You will manage access control, verify credentials, and monitor entry points at a manufacturing and industrial site, supporting a safe and welcoming environment.

The role offers part-time hours with day and night shifts. You will document activities, respond to incidents, and work within established post orders to deter unauthorized activity while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background investigation will be conducted as a condition of employment per federal, state, and local laws.
• A drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials, issue visitor and contractor passes, maintain access logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, parking areas, production-adjacent spaces, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Document daily activities, access-control events, incidents, and observations in accurate reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
