Job summary

Atlanta Technical College is seeking an Academic Support Specialist (Part-Time) to provide tutoring and embedded academic support to students in General Education. The role emphasizes interventions to boost persistence, course completion, and achievement, working with faculty and student-support staff across face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.

Under the Dean of Academic Affairs, you will develop strategies, lead workshops, and help students strengthen study habits and time management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of directly related work experience.
Preferred: Master’s degree in English, Mathematics, Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, or related field.
Experience in higher education academic support and tutoring.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and small-group tutoring and supplemental instruction.
Deliver embedded/push-in support within assigned courses in collaboration with faculty.
Identify students at risk and provide timely academic interventions.
Develop individualized strategies to address academic deficiencies.
Conduct workshops, seminars, and study sessions to enhance student success.
Collaborate with faculty to reinforce course competencies and strengthen learning.
Maintain records of student contacts, interventions, and outcomes.
