Job summary

AIM—the Aviation Institute of Maintenance—seeks experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to join as instructors in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. You will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned curriculum and mentor students preparing for FAA certifications, transitioning from hands-on maintenance to teaching.

No prior teaching experience is required; AIM offers a 5-day paid instructor training program to help you transition to the classroom. This part-time role features an evening schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environment.
• Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
• Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation technicians.
• Maintain attendance, grades, and student progress records.
• Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
• Create a structured, safe, and engaging learning environment.
• Maintain lab equipment and training materials.
