Job summary

MSAD 75 / RSU 75 Bowdoin Central School in Bowdoin, ME seeks a 1:1 Nurse to support a student with complex medical needs. The role is part-time (Thursdays and Fridays) with prorated salary.

Responsibilities include delivering dedicated nursing care, administering medications, and collaborating with educators and families to ensure safe learning. Ideal candidates hold Maine RN license, School Nurse certification, and at least 3 years of pediatric/1:1 care experience.

Qualifications

• Valid State of Maine RN license required.
• Maine School Nurse PreK-12 (524) certification required.
• CHRC authorization required.
• BSN preferred or matriculated into BSN program.
• Minimum three years nursing experience required.
• Pediatric/home health/1:1 complex care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver continuous 1:1 nursing care, health monitoring, and emergency intervention during school hours and related transport/events.
• Implement IHP, EAP, and medical components of IEP/504 in coordination with providers, families, and school team.
• Administer prescribed medications and enteral nutrition as directed by orders and district guidelines.
• Document changes in patient condition and maintain accurate health records.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Educate classroom staff on health precautions, emergency symptoms, and safety protocols.
• Maintain clean, safe medical equipment and treatment areas.
• Support policies promoting healthful environments for students with complex needs.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth in pediatric and complex nursing care.
