Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced FAA Part 145 Inspector in Terre Haute, Indiana to join the Quality Assurance and Engine Overhaul team. You will ensure engine airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and overhaul quality throughout the repair process.

The role involves inspecting PT6 engine components, reviewing documentation, and making critical airworthiness decisions with a strong emphasis on safety and precision within a growing facility.

Qualifications

• FAA Powerplant Certificate (A&P strongly preferred).
• 5+ years powerplant experience, preferably with PT6A engines.
• 1+ year as Aircraft Engine Inspector in turbine/jet MRO.
• Experience performing receiving, in-process, final inspections.
• Strong knowledge of FAA maintenance regulations and airworthiness.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, dimensional, assembly and final inspections on PT6 components.
• Review maintenance docs and work packages for compliance.
• Determine component serviceability and document findings.
• Collaborate with technicians to resolve discrepancies and support release-to-service.

A growing FAA-regulated aircraft engine overhaul facility specializing in Pratt & Whitney PT6 turboprop engines is seeking an experienced FAA Part 145 Inspector to join its Quality Assurance and Engine Overhaul team in Terre Haute, Indiana. This is a highly visible position responsible for ensuring engine airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and overhaul quality standards throughout the repair process.

The Inspector will work alongside experienced turbine engine mechanics, quality personnel, and leadership within a professional overhaul environment focused on safety, precision, and long-term growth. The team is continuing to expand due to increasing overhaul demand and a growing customer base, creating strong long-term stability and advancement opportunities for qualified aviation professionals.

Daily responsibilities include performing receiving, in-process, dimensional, assembly, and final inspections on PT6 engine components and assemblies; reviewing maintenance documentation and work packages; determining component serviceability; documenting inspection findings; verifying compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer requirements; and collaborating with technicians to resolve discrepancies. This role plays a direct part in the release-to-service process and is trusted to make critical airworthiness decisions that impact engine reliability and customer satisfaction.

Skills and Requirements

• FAA Powerplant Mechanic Certificate (A&P strongly preferred)
• 5+ years powerplant experience, preferably with P&W PT6A Engines
• 1+ years of experience as an Aircraft Engine Inspector in a turbine engine, jet engine, overhaul, repair, or MRO environment
• Experience performing receiving, in-process, final, and quality inspections on turbine engine components and assemblies
• Strong understanding of FAA maintenance regulations, inspection procedures, quality systems, and airworthiness requirements
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, engineering drawings, service bulletins, and approved technical data
• Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, depth gauges, and dial indicators (will be provided)
• Ability to determine component serviceability and accurately document inspection findings
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with mechanics, supervisors, and quality teams
• Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing
• Direct Pratt & Whitney PT6A engine experience including modules, hot section components, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and accessories
• Knowledge of FAA Part 43 and Part 145 regulations
• Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney Canada maintenance and overhaul manuals
• Experience with discrepancy reporting, nonconformance systems, corrective actions, and quality management processes
• Experience supporting release-to-service activities and final airworthiness inspections
• Additional turbine engine inspection experience beyond PT6 platforms
