Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is hiring a Parole Agent 1 at the Butler Sub Office to guide reentrants and coordinate community resources. This is a hands-on trainee position with a 12-month training period leading to Parole Agent 2 and a salary increase.

You will perform program guidance, community coordination, resource development, supervision support, reentry planning, and family engagement while traveling as required.

Qualifications

• Four years paraprofessional experience including two years in social services, corrections, or law enforcement.
• Alternate: two years paraprofessional experience plus an associate’s degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, legal studies or related field.
• Eligible educational requirements within 3 months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Lead skill-building activities, orientation sessions, and workshops for reentrants.
• Build relationships with service providers, employers, schools, and treatment programs.
• Develop solutions with organizations for housing, substance abuse, and employment challenges.
• Advise on best practices and supervise strategies for parole management.
• Create reentry plans using assessment tools including risk reduction and employment goals.
• Engage families to explain parole processes and support reentrant return.
