We currently have an opening for a Parole Board Specialist I working in our Frankfort Central Office. The mainduty of this position is researching offender files to complete risk and needs assessments on thoseindividuals being considered for parole. If this sounds like something you would be interested in.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• The completion of the Parole Guidelines and Needs Risk Assessment on an assigned caseload of 200 - 350offenders.
• Meet multiple deadlines each month.
• Assist with phone and mail coverage, as needed.
• Enter Parole Board file review decisions on parole eligibility hearings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Should be able to work independently
• Acute attention to detail and initiative, as well as the ability to workunder pressure

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Current or prior Department of Corrections experience will substitute for the required education on a year- for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required education on a year- for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Work is typically performed in an office setting within a correctional institution.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
