Job summary

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources seeks a part-time Natural Resources Technician for Parks & Trails at Wild River State Park, Center City, MN. The role supports maintenance, resource management, and visitor services with a rotating shift.

Flexible weekends and special events may apply. The position requires a CDL, pre-employment drug screen, and 2 years of related experience or an appropriate degree; CDL is required within six months if not held at hire.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s Degree in Natural Resource Recreation Management or closely related area.
• Two years (24 months) experience in laboring/grounds work or related field accepted in lieu of degree.
• Class A driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee work plans and direct field staff, seasonal staff, volunteers and crews.
• Maintain park facilities, grounds, utilities, roads and trails for safe use by visitors.
• Implement resource management programs to protect natural and cultural resources.
• Provide visitor services and information to the public.
• Enforce safety and emergency service programs within the park.
• Coordinate public relations efforts to communicate park goals and objectives.
