Responsibilities

• Maintain parks, pools, grounds, restrooms and sport fields; tasks include mowing, edging, fertilizing, seeding, pruning, planting, and weed/tree/shrub removal.
• Paint, repair and refurbish fixtures, signs, equipment and other items as needed.
• Operate and maintain lawn mowers, edgers, and other power tools; use equipment like backhoes, tractors, and chippers.
• Participate in emergency response teams and comply with safety policies.
• May work special events on nights, weekends or holidays.
• Enhance crew duties include painting, power washing bridges and structures; routine monument cleaning and hardscape repairs.

Parks Technician - Enhancement Crew# Parks Technician - Enhancement CrewParks Office Building - The Woodlands, TX 77381## OverviewSalary Range$18.43 - $18.43 HourlyPosition TypeFull-timeJob ShiftDayEducation LevelHigh SchoolTravel PercentageNoneCategoryOther## Description**Summary of Duties:** Under the immediate supervision of a Parks Supervisor, Foreman or a Senior Technician perform skilled and semi-skilled work related to maintenance and renovation of parks and recreation facilities, grounds, pathways, and landscape.**Emergency Response Responsibilities:**During emergency conditions, subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situation and are expected to perform emergency service duties, as assigned.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Perform duties in support of development and maintenance of parks, pools, grounds, restrooms and sport fields e.g., mowing, edging, fertilizing, seeding, pruning, planting, and/ or removing weeds, trees and shrubs, clearing right-of-way areas and drainage with appropriate equipment.* Paint, repair and refurbish fixtures, signs, equipment and other miscellaneous items as needed.* Gather and dispose of debris, wood, trash, limbs, weeds, grass, trees, shrubs, plants and dead animals.* Operate and maintain lawn mowers, sod cutters, chainsaws, tree trimmers and chippers, air compressors, backhoes, farm tractors, forklifts, and other various hand and job-related power tools.* Participates in emergency response teams.* Safety sensitive position subject to the Random Drug Screen Policy.* Must meet and maintain the requirements of the driver safety policy.* Employee may be required to work special events on nights, weekends or holidays.* Other duties as assigned.**Specific to Enhancement Crew:*** Maintenance task, painting and power washing bridges, pavilions and other structures.* Perform routine repairs on trolley gates, handrails, wayfinding signage, trashcans.* Perform routine monument cleaning, debris removal and hardscape repairs in the Town Center and along the Waterway.* Support team for large projects e.g., landscape enhancements, building improvements, parking lot striping, tree and landscape fertilization.**Physical Demands:**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
