City of Odessa’s Parks & Recreation Department seeks a semiskilled general laborer to assist in repair and fabrication of park structures. You will operate basic tools and equipment, follow safety rules, and support maintenance tasks across city parks.

Under basic supervision, you will perform carpentry, welding, and concrete work as needed, inspect facilities, and help with event setup. A valid Texas driver’s license and ability to lift heavy objects are required.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; maintenance, construction, or welding experience desired.
• Knowledge of PRD safety policies and federal/state building codes.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow standard operating and safety procedures.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with co-workers.

Responsabilidades

• Perform general labor to maintain, repair and construct park facilities; inspect facilities and equipment; duties may vary by assignment.
• Perform park repair and fabrication tasks including carpentry, welding, and concrete; build and repair structures and components; estimate material needs.
• Utilize safety precautions; report problems and emergencies; avoid unsafe acts and injuries.
• Support department operations with regular attendance and positive public interactions.
