Job summary

The City of McKinney is seeking a Parks & Recreation Financial Services Supervisor to lead financial planning, budgeting, and compliance across the department. You will translate complex data into actionable insights for department leadership and ensure sound fiscal governance for recreation, facilities, grants, and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible experience in financial and accounting administration.
• Knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting and GAAP principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive financial oversight for Parks & Recreation, ensuring alignment with City policies and long-term objectives.
• Advise department leadership on budget development, forecasting, fund management, and fiscal impacts of initiatives.
• Lead department-wide financial planning, including multi-year forecasting, trend analysis, and risk mitigation.
• Manage revenue collections and expenditures for all divisions of Parks & Recreation.
• Process financial transactions including journal entries and refunds and assist with reconciliations.
• Oversee preparation, administration, and monitoring of operating, capital, grant, and special revenue budgets.
