Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Under the administrative direction of the Parks Manager and Deputy Director of Operations and Maintenance, the Park Maintenance Supervisor plans, supervises, and monitors the maintenance of parks and facilities. This includes landscaping, irrigation, restrooms, play structures, exercise equipment, trails, and other park amenities within their assigned geographical area. The supervisor also oversees repairs of all City-owned buildings and performs various construction duties, including maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and floor care.

The supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of employees and vehicles within their area. They identify training needs, work to maintain and improve staff morale, and address personnel issues promptly and fairly, in accordance with established policies. The employee prepares and maintains complex and technical reports and records and assists with the budget preparation process. Routine contact with the public, contractors, outside agencies, and other departments requires courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.

The employee works as part of the overall Parks department and City team to support various City-sponsored special events throughout the year.
