Job summary

The Town of Brookline is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for Parks and Open Spaces to oversee daily operations, maintenance, and long-term care of parks, fields, cemeteries, and school grounds. Lead staff, manage budgets, coordinate contractors, and engage with the public and other agencies.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in parks management, forestry, horticulture, environmental studies, engineering, or related field.
• Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in parks or facility management; three years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and oversight of municipal parks, athletic fields, cemeteries, and school grounds.
• Develop and implement a maintenance and asset management plan; ensure safe and efficient operations of facilities, equipment, and fleet.
• Supervise regular and seasonal staff, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate performance; enforce safety and procedures.
