An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Parks Maintenance Worker II to join their team. A Parks Maintenance Worker II works independently performing a variety of semi-skilled to skilled tasks in trades such as carpentry, welding, electrical, masonry, painting, or plumbing. Responsibilities include maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of facilities, fixtures, and equipment at City parks, basins, golf courses, athletic/sports fields, and other recreational areas. Tasks may include chain link fence repair and installation, and repair of parks, playgrounds, golf courses, stadium structures, and related facilities. Employees may also provide supervision, lead training, or coordinate work for Parks Maintenance Assistants, Workers I, temporary workers, or volunteers.
Parks and Basin Maintenance Assignment: Employees perform construction, maintenance, and repair activities for the City's parks and basins, involving general trades and skilled maintenance tasks. Duties include inspecting grounds and facilities, scheduling and completing repairs, and organizing work activities. Responsibilities also include transporting, assembling, and dismantling equipment for special events.
Supervision is provided by a Parks Maintenance Leader or Foreman, who reviews work through observation, reports, and results. Employees must use safety equipment and procedures. The role may include yearly rotational standby duty and 24-hour call-out, with shifts in evenings, early mornings, and weekends. This position is FLSA nonexempt.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, plus 1-3 years of experience in two or more trades such as carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, plumbing, or welding.
Special Requirements: Must meet respirator certification requirements, possess a valid Arizona Class A CDL Instructional Permit with Tanker Endorsement by hire or promotion, and complete the skills demonstration within 120 days of hire or promotion.
Substance Abuse Testing: Subject to DOT FMCSA drug and alcohol testing.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in irrigation and turf maintenance for baseball/softball fields.
