JOB POSITION #42: PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKER I (LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION)

NUMBER OF VACANCIES: 1

DEPARTMENT: PRCA/Parks Operations

WORK LOCATION: 901 Fairgrounds Road

HIRING RANGE: $16.3120 to $25.3981/Hour

PAY GRADE: "F"

DAYS WORKED: Varied

HOURS WORKED: 40 Hours/Week

TYPE OF POSITION: Regular, Full-Time

Job Duties

Essential Duties
  • Work includes a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in maintenance and operation of park and recreation facilities.
  • Perform groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, weed control, and maintaining sports fields and courts.
  • Assist in minor repairs and maintenance of park facilities and equipment.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment used in park maintenance.
  • Maintain records of work performed and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Participate in construction, installation, and setup of park facilities and equipment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid New Mexico driver’s license with CDL endorsement or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Experience in grounds maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge of equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures related to grounds maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and establish effective working relationships.
Tools and Equipment Used

Includes trucks, backhoes, lawn equipment, hand tools, and janitorial equipment.

Physical Demands

Requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Environment

Primarily outdoor work, often in high, precarious places, and exposed to weather, chemicals, and noise.
