The City of Hallandale Beach seeks a Parks Maintenance Worker to maintain and clean park facilities. Responsibilities include using various tools and performing semi-skilled tasks. Candidates must possess a high school diploma and relevant certifications to apply, along with a valid Florida driver's license.
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the care, cleaning and maintenance of park facilities, depending on area of assignment. Operates a variety of tools, equipment, and vehicles in the cleaning, operation, repair, and maintenance of City parks, beaches, and facilities. Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in parks maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and / or experience. Must have or obtain First Aide, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External (AED) certifications within three (3) months of hire. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), Certified Playground Inspector (CPSI) preferred, depending on area of assignment. May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

Applicants who demonstrate they meet the minimum requirements may be subject to an extensive selection process and screening program, which may include, but not be limited to, evaluation of training and experience background investigation; medical evaluation; controlled substance screen.
