Job summary

The City of Brainerd is seeking a Parks Maintenance worker to perform semi-skilled duties maintaining parks, fields, playgrounds and city facilities. You will operate equipment, assist with building upkeep and report to the Parks Maintenance Foreman.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, valid MN driver’s license, Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months, and OSHA training. The role involves outdoor work, lifting and interaction with the public.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Minnesota driver's license required.
• Class B CDL or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Complete OSHA-required training.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds keeping and maintenance activities in park areas.
• Prepare and maintain athletic fields, playgrounds and outdoor ice rinks.
• Operate and maintain park equipment and tools.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, welding and painting tasks as needed.
• Inspect facilities and report hazards to the Parks Maintenance Foreman.
• Oversee seasonal workers and assist Street Division as needed.
