Job summary

City of Deming is seeking a regular, full-time Maintenance Tech I in the Parks Department. Position requires a valid State of NM driver’s license and a good driving record; prior department-related work is preferred.

This is an unskilled to semi-skilled manual role, with work often supervised but could be performed independently with training. Pre-employment checks are required, and benefits include health and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Valid NM driver’s license with good driving record.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of the care and use of standard hand tools.
• Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to perform manual labor in varying weather.
• Some heavy manual-work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform unskilled and limited semi-skilled manual work.
• Operate trucks, heavy equipment, or other machinery when required.
• Work with training and experience to operate independently.
• Follow department safety rules and procedures.
