Job Description
The City of Stoughton, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Parks Maintenance Supervisor. Known for its Norwegian heritage, the City of Stoughton (population 13,134) is located on the scenic Yahara River and is just minutes away from the state capital of Madison, Wisconsin.

The Parks Maintenance Supervisor position is responsible for establishing work programs and supervising the work activities of the parks maintenance personnel for the assigned areas and parks facilities, and assisting the Street Department as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Parks and Recreation Management, Parks Facility Management, or a related field from an accredited college,

AND

• Experience:Five (5) years of increasingly responsible paid experience in parks facility maintenance, park maintenance, or a related field, with three (3) of the five years in increasing responsibility in management of park and recreation facility maintenance and development in a supervisory or lead capacity

OR

• Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position.
• Experience with parks machine operation, light carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping.
• Knowledge of the principles of employee supervision, counseling, motivation, and disciplinary action.

Other requirements include successful completion of a background check, driver’s license check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen. A valid operator’s license is required upon hire, and a Commercial Driver’s license class B is required within 12 months of hire.

Salary/Salary Range
$38.81 per hour
