Job summary

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) is seeking a Parks Heavy Equipment Operator to maintain community parks and operate heavy machinery. You will support snow removal, landscaping, and repairs to equipment, ensuring safe, attractive spaces for residents and businesses.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years' experience operating commercial landscaping and heavy equipment.
• Class A CDL license preferred; SMSC provides training within 1 year of hire.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in extreme temperatures.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy landscaping and construction equipment for large-scale projects.
• Maintain parks and repair equipment; perform snow removal seasonally.
• Inspect equipment safety devices and perform preventative maintenance.
• Assist with events and roadside cleanup; support other departments.
