Job summary

The City of Palestine seeks a Parks Maintenance Worker to perform grounds maintenance for the City’s parks, lakes, cemeteries, facilities and special events. You will mow, edge, water, prune, and assist with repairs of irrigation and facilities under supervision.

Responsibilities include operating landscaping equipment, maintaining restrooms, and supporting park-related projects. Must be able to lift heavy items and work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred with 1 year of grounds maintenance experience.
• Proficient in basic landscaping and maintenance tasks.
• Must have valid Texas driver’s license.
• Work outdoors in variable weather and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Mows, rakes, edges, and maintains grassy areas.
• Repairs sprinklers and water faucets; mends fences and gates.
• Cleans park restrooms and picks up trash.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment.
• Assist with park maintenance for city events.
