Job summary

The City of Austin Parks and Recreation (APR) is hiring for a grounds maintenance role. The incumbent will maintain parks and athletic fields, operate trucks and large equipment, and support event setups in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities include litter abatement, graffiti removal, and assisting the public with questions. A valid Texas Class C license is required, with safety and teamwork emphasized in this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Requires clear communication skills (oral/written).
• Ability to plan and organize daily grounds tasks.
• Proficient with power tools and general equipment.
• Able to lift/carry up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to read floor plans and diagrams.
• Able to adapt to interruptions and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform sports field and grounds keeping maintenance.
• Drive a truck and trailer combination.
• Litter abatement and graffiti removal as needed.
