Job summary

Citrus County Board of County Commissioners in Florida is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of landscaping and parks maintenance tasks across the county under general supervision.

The role supports the beautification of outdoor spaces, maintains fields and facilities, operates equipment, keeps logs, and participates in emergency response when needed. Schedule is typically Monday through Friday with some evenings or weekends based on operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Six months of experience in groundskeeping, parks maintenance, landscaping, or a closely related field
• Completion of turf grass or grounds maintenance classes preferred

Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, edge, and weed turf and green spaces.
• Fertilize lawn and landscaping; maintain logs of products and chemicals used.
• Perform pond maintenance; assist with irrigation and landscaping.
• Litter control in parks, green spaces, roads, and rights-of-way; assist with general maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Inspect park facilities (piers, ramps, walkways, benches) and assist with repairs as needed.
• Complete work orders and daily task paperwork; maintain sports fields and restrooms.
• Assist with disaster preparedness and emergency response; work after hours if required.
