Job summary

City of Tupelo is seeking a P & R Landscape Maintenance Tech II to perform daily maintenance of parks, athletic fields, and facilities. You will operate power equipment, maintain grounds, and assist in pool maintenance under supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license; strong physical stamina is required to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in various conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Reasoning ability to apply basic logic in routine tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily maintenance of parks, grounds, facilities, and athletic fields.
• Operates power equipment and tools essential to maintenance of Department grounds and facilities.
• Maintains equipment used in maintenance operations on a daily basis.
• Prepares athletic fields including turf maintenance, field marking, and dirt preparation.
• Performs basic carpentry and plumbing, pours and finishes concrete, maintains playground structures, and repairs fencing.
• Assists in swimming pool maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
