Job summary

The Dallas City Hall Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker II to perform semi-skilled labor maintaining parks, playgrounds, facilities, and landscaping across the city. Candidates will mow, trim, collect trash, and assist with repairs to keep public spaces safe and attractive.

Responsibilities include operating mowers and hand/power tools, performing preventive maintenance, and providing reliable customer service.

Qualifications

• 2 years operating mowers and lawn equipment
• Experience maintaining public facilities and park grounds
• Garbage/brush collection experience
• Ability to drive and operate equipment safely
• Knowledge of safety procedures
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships

Responsibilities

• Mows and maintains landscaping in public areas and cleans facilities.
• Loads/unloads tools and equipment for repairs.
• Assists in environmental inspection and field work; pollution prevention.
• Operates equipment to transport tools and materials to work sites.
• Maintains playgrounds and sports fields; conducts repairs per standards.
• Provides preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Delivers quality customer service and handles hazards professionally.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
