Job summary

The City of Lakeland is seeking personnel for semi-skilled maintenance of City-owned properties, performing heavy manual labor and operating hand tools, mowers, and related equipment. You may be assigned more complex tasks as experience grows and work is subject to supervision and review.

Responsibilities include cleaning parks, maintaining facilities, installing park amenities, and performing routine grounds maintenance.

Qualifications

• Eight grade education or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must obtain Florida-Friendly Best Management Practices certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains restrooms at City parks.
• Maintains daily maintenance records.
• Removes trash from City parks.
• Maintains athletic complexes and park areas.
• Installs park amenities and playground equipment.
• Operates lawn and grounds equipment and light trucks.
• Repairs and performs basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical work under supervision.
• Interacts with the public in a courteous manner.
