Job summary

The City of Decatur is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to perform upkeep on parks, facilities and equipment outdoors. Responsibilities include field preparation, restocking and cleaning, irrigation work, minor repairs, and assisting other city divisions.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to read manuals and logs, basic math, good teamwork, safety awareness and dependable attendance. Valid Texas driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years' experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, trimming, edging, raking and trash pick-up; weed control.
• Work on the preparation and maintenance of athletic ball fields for use by adult leagues and youth sports.
• Maintains and cleans parks restroom facilities and shelters throughout the parks.
• Prepares ball fields by dragging leveling, lining, and cleaning restrooms.
