Job summary

City of Federal Way seeks a Parks Maintenance Worker I to keep City parks, facilities and athletic fields safe and attractive. You will support irrigation and plumbing repairs, apply pesticides, and operate mowing and power equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of related grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• Vocational training or degrees in Parks and Recreation, Landscaping, or related field are desirable.
• Experience with irrigation, pesticides, and equipment maintenance is required when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to entry level grounds maintenance in City parks.
• Maintain safety and appearance of parks, facilities and ball fields.
• Operate a variety of grounds equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Inspect and repair irrigation and plumbing systems; apply pesticides per regulations.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
